Spa Magazine - Green Tea Toner Beauty Recipe

~ November 13 2009 ~

Everywhere we look, UTW has our eyes primed for any and all tea related stories.  As we are preparing our TEAESTHETICS™ Body Infusions for launch, our office is filled with the latest spa industry magazines and newsletters.  We came across this article in Spa Magazine's December 2009 issue and the Green Tea Skin Toner recipe is as effective as it is simple to make.  If only we could bottle this and market it... Hmmmmmmm...

All teas are fantastic cosmetic ingredients not only becasue they are 100% natural, but also because there is thousands of years of history supporting tea's internal and external health benefits.  At UTW, we urge people to get creative with their healthy lifestyle change and the following recipe shows how you can take any one of our Lifestyle Teas or Herbal Infusions and create an effective skin treatment.  It's good for you, protects the environment, and promotes a level of wellness that other's are sure to notice!

'Green Tea Toner' - Amy Westervelt, Spa Magazine

Plenty of people leave toner out of their beauty routine, but many estheticians swear by its ability to balance the pH of the skin and remove residue left by cleansers.  Looking for an easy, affordable way to try it out?  Lisa Sykes, sustainability specialist for a leading spa supplier, suggests this refreshing two-ingredient version (good for all skin types) made with one of nature's best antioxidants:  Green Tea.  Simply apply it in the morning after cleansing and before moisturizing, and then reapply throughout the day for a pick-me-up.  The tea's polyphenols help fight free radicals and inflammation, and studies have shown that when applied to the skin, green tea helps protect against sun damage.
